Encouraging Good Attendance
Improving and Maintaining Good Attendance:
Parents are informed about the importance of good attendance, through regular letters, newsletters, and text messages.
Children are made aware of the importance of good attendance through whole school assemblies using attendance awards.
Children who achieve 100% attendance in their class over the full school year will receive a certificate and prize.
Class attendance is shared weekly.
The class with the best attendance each week is recognised at Friday’s assemblies.
Classes with 100% punctuality and 100% attendance will be rewarded with a prize.
Classes take part in the 'Race to 5' where the class that achieves the highest attendance during the week, receives a star. When a class achieves 5 stars, they earn themselves a golden time session, where the children can choose their own activity at the end of the following week, such as an extra playtime or short film.
We hold 100% day, each half term where the children who attend on that specific day receives a prize, such as a craft afternoon, popcorn and film or even the opportunity to watch a pantomime.
Attendance Raffle! Children who attend school for a full week, receive a raffle ticket within a jar. At the end of the half term, a name gets pulled out of each class. That child wins a prize, the more they attend the more tickets they receive which gives them a higher chance of winning the prize.
Children in Key Stage 2 can be nominated as their class Attendance Ambassador. They work closely with the attendance team to deliver daily stickers, certificates and plan events to promote good attendance across school.
