LO: Can I measure capacity?
After our zoom, complete the task below.
Print/ download the document 'Measure capacity and volume' or copy the table into your homework book.
Ask your grown up for a few different sized containers. Investigate how many small containers it takes to fill larger containers. Make sure you use the same small container each time.
For example, you might investigate how many cups it takes to fill a pan. Then, you might investigate how many cups it takes to fill a vase.
Here are some ideas of containers you could use: jug, mug, glass, pan, vase.
Questions to think about:
- Which container holds the most?
- Which container holds the least?
- Are any of the containers equal?
- If a container is taller, does it mean it will hold the most?
Challenge: Have a go at creating a block graph to record your measurements.
